North-East get its share but implementation is the key

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram had allocated Rs 2,030 crore for the development of the North-East region in 2013 but the region still remains segregated from the main stream due to lack road connectivity.
'Arun Prabha'channel for North-East
Expectations were high from Prime Minister Narendra Modi who presented a comprehensive vision for the overall development of the North-East region in his poll speeches. Igniting a ray of hope of good governance and development of North-East, Finance Minister Arun jaitley announced a 24x7 television channel named 'Arun Prabha' for the north east region.
Rs.2,000 crore for road connectivity in the North-East region
"A new channel , which will be a 24x7 channel, will be started in the northeast region," Mr Jaitley said while tabling the union budget in the Parliament.
Jaitley also announced a sum of Rs.1,000 crore for rail connectivity and Rs.2,000 crore for road connectivity in the northeast region. This move of increasing the connectivity will mark for development of infrastructure of the region.
Since seven States like Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim are rich in natural and mineral resources , increase in connectivity can raise the growth of national economy. Due to lack of infrastructure like roads, transport, market accessibility, industrialization has not been developed successfully.
Sports university in Manipur
In a good move, the Government will build a sports university in Manipur. The government will spend Rs 100 crore on Manipur, a State that has produced several international athletes including Olympic bronze medallist boxer MC Mary Kom. The state is also famous for its archers, footballers and power events like weightlifting and boxing.
Policy paralysis in the past
In the past economic development was hampered due to lack of policy paralysis. The Modi Government's Budget can only be justified if there is proper implementation of projects.
The Government also announced International events to be held in North and North-East India where countries like Nepal and Bhutan will be invited.
