Mumbai father and son prove why age is no bar when it comes to education
It's a double celebration in this Mumbai family. After all, both the father and the son graduated together this year.
Mumbai, July 19: It's a double celebration in this Mumbai family. After all, both the father and the son graduated together this year.
It is his desire to complete his education which encouraged Mohammad Farook Shaikh, a taxi driver in the Maximum City, to write his graduation exam together with his son Hazim Farook Shaikh.

The results are incredible as both the father and the son passed their exams together. While junior Shaikh, a commerce student, scored 56 per cent in his graduation exam from the Mumbai University, his father got 49 per cent in his graduation exam conducted by the YB Chavan University in Maharashtra.
The idea behind writing the exam with students much younger than him stemmed from the fact that Mohammad wanted to earn respect in society and find better job opportunities.
Previously, he was working as a clerk but was forced to leave his job due to unavoidable circumstances. That is when he decided to become a taxi driver to run his household. While carrying on with his job, Mohammad, who had studied in an English medium school, always wanted to finish his graduation. The right time came when his son was about to finish his graduation too.
Both Mohammad and Hazim feel that age should not be a bar for education. Speaking to ANI, Mohammad said, "There is no age to study. I am happy that I have done my graduation."
His son echoed him. "I used to solve his doubts, as I had regular classes and he could take classes only on weekend," said Hazim.
Mohammad is truly an inspiration to all those who want to pursue their higher education. What are you thinking about? Leave all your inhibitions aside and enroll yourself in the course you have been dreaming about to pursue all these years.
