Meet Navin Gulia holding world records with 100% medical disability

Navin Gulia who is an accomplished author, award-winning adventurer, philanthropist, motivational speaker and above all, a source of inspiration to many.

Gulia has made it to the Limca Book of Records by becoming the first and only person to drive non-stop for 55 hours to Marsimik La, which at 18,632 feet is the highest motorable mountain pass in the world. He has also won awards including the Karmaveer Chakra, National Role Model Award, Global Indian of the Year, KavinCare Ability Mastery Award and many more. Gulia currently lives in Gurgaon with his wife Khushi and his parents.

Life changing accident

When he was 18 year old, he met with an accident that left him from waist down. He had joined Indian Military Academy when a freak accident doing gymnastics paralysed him neck down. He thought he would be bed ridden for life but he did not give up. After his recovery he completed Masters in Computers from Symbiosis College Pune after which he started teaching computers to disabled soldiers at National Defence Academy.

Gulia was always an adventure-seeker and flown hang-gliders and adventure aircraft, driven over 1 lakh kilometers on adventure expeditions. Passionate about cars, he had designed his own set of controls for steering car when the manufatured showed no interest.

In 2007, Gulia founded Apni Duniya, Apna Ashiana which works towards the interests of underprivileged children. Gulia has also written 29-page story about his perseverance, fighting spirit and persistent efforts named 'In Quest of the Last Victory'.
