Date and place of birth- February 10, 1970, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Family history- Kumar Vishwas hails from a Gaur Brahmin family and is the youngest child of Chandra Pal Sharma and Rama Sharma. His father was a lecturer and his mother is a homemaker.

Personal life- Vishwas has three brothers and a sister. Vishwas has a post graduate degree and a PhD in Hindi litreature. After completing his studies, Vishwas started working as a professor in Rajasthan in 1994.

Vishwas' love for poetry began when he was pursuing his education in Hindi Literature. He is a well known face in the poetry circuit and has done many shows in the country and abroad.

Political career- Like most of the core members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Vishwas also supported the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare in 2011. When Anna supporter Arvind Kejriwal formed his own political party; AAP, Vishwas was a core member of the party.

The AAP for the first time contested elections last year during the Delhi Assembly elections and managed to form a government in the capital few weeks later. Though Vishwas didn't contest the Delhi Assembly elections, he was seen campaigning for the party extensively.

Vishwas however will be contesting in the Lok Sabha election against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi from Amethi. He is confident of defeating Gandhi on his own turf.

Vishwas has also been into many controversies after many videos surfaced on the internet. In one video he is seen making fun of the nurses from Kerala, while in another he is seen making derogatory statements on Imam Hussain.
