Know how to book Tatkal tickets in 30 seconds on IRCTC

Before going for a train journey, the biggest problem one faces is while booking a train ticket. To get a Tatkal ticket done, though people go and stand in long queues for hours but even after doing so it is not certain that one will get a ticket for sure. To avoid these long queues, people try booking the tickets online. Here are a few things which should be kept in mind while booking the tickets online:

Before getting a ticket booked confirm the following:

Identity Card (Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Voter ID card)
Bank Account Number
Internet banking
Debit card number
Online Bank Password

Before booking the ticket confirm the following information:

Travel destination
Train name
Train Number
Number of people who will travel
All the information related to the travelers like age, gender.

Important things to remember

To book Tatkal ticket one should have Internet Banking facility and should remember the password and ID for the same. One also needs to have a login ID for the IRCTC website. One can create an account on the IRCTC whenever you want.

Login IRCTC before 10 am

Login into the IRCTC website before the Tatkal bookings open.

Click on my profile

Go to my profile and click on Master List.

Fill all the details related to travellers

Fill in all the details about the people who are travelling, in respective columns and save it.

Click on my profile again

Again go to my profile and click on favourite journey list.

Fill all the details about the train

After deciding the train from which you want to travel, fill in all the details about the train, the stations from where you will board and de-board the train and then save it.

Again log in to the IRCTC website

Tatkal booking begins at 10 o'clock, so log in 5 minutes before the bookings begin to book the ticket.

Click on select favourite journey list

Select favourite journey list which you have already filled.

Go to 'Plan my journey'

Go to my journey and just submit all the details you had already filled earlier.

Select the train and book the ticket

From the list, first select Tatkal and then click on book now.

Click on 'Master list'

Click on the master list which you have already filled.

Check the list

Check the list: The names will automatically appear, as you have already filled the details, just check everything is filled correctly.

Fill the 'CAPTCHA'

Fill the CAPTCHA carefully and then click on next.

Select the bank to make payment

To make payment, select the bank in which your account is there.

Fill all the Bank details to make payment

Fill the Customer ID and password, if you are making payments through net banking and then continue.

Your ticket is booked

If you follow the instructions given in the slide, your ticket will get booked easily.
