Karnataka elections: Rajarajeshwarinagar, RR Nagar Vidhan Sabha Seat

Rajarajeshwari also called as RR Nagar is a residential locality southern part of Bengaluru along the Mysore road. The locality was named after Rajarajeshwari Temple which is located in the area. The entry to the township is almost royal, thanks to an ornate arch and a palace-like mall. But a big drain near the mall reminds one that it is Bengaluru city after all. The locality has plenty of greenery. Ideal Homes, BEML Layout, BHEL Layout, Pattanagere, Krishna Garden and Channasandra are some of the sublocalities within Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

Coconut groves and eucalyptus plantations coves major part of this region. This area is well connected by Mysore Road, Uttarahalli Road and Itamadu main Road.
The Global Village Tech Park, spread over 120 acres, is located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Some important firms located here are, Accenture Crompton Greaves, Global Edge, Mindtree, Mphasis and Sonata Software.

Raja Rajeshwari nagar houses the best of medical service centers Sri Venkateshwara Nethralaya, Manipal Super Speciality Hospital, Kents Homoepathic Health Centre, Raja Rajeshwari Charitable Hospital, Bangalore Children's Hospital and Rotary Hospital to name a few.

The current MLA is Munirathna from Congress and he defeated K.L.R.Thimmananjaiah from JDS.
