Karnataka elections: Koratagere Assembly constituency

Koratagere constituency is in the Tumkur district. The constituency apart from its slot bear population is also famous for temples. The constituency has many gollarahattis and is a prominent Dalit stronghold.

Siddara Betta, Goravanahalli Goddesses Lakshmi temple, Doddakaayappa Temple-Kuramkote,Gunda Anjaneya temple, Minchakallu Gollagalli, Teeta Dam-Teeta, Gundanjaneya temple, Gangadhareshwar temple, Chennigaraya Kote, Anjanya temple kyamenahalli, Agrahara Tank, Devarayana Durga mountain and temple are some of the famous tourist spots in Koratagere.

Venkateshwara Temple in Akkiramapura village is a historical site. The temple has traditional architecture and is associated with Mauna Bhargava Rishi who did penance here.

P. R. Sudhakara Lal of the JD(S) defeated Congress' strongman Dr G Parameshwar in the 2013 assembly elections to become the legislator from Koratagere.
