• UT Khader comes from a renowned Muslim family well known for their generosity.
• Khader is a member of Indian National Congress and has represented the Ullal constituency( now renamed as Mangalore Constituency) of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
• Khader entered the Assembly for the first time by winning the 2007 by-election held following the death of his father, who had won elections in 1972, 1978, 1999 and 2004.
• He was the minister for health and family welfare of the Karnataka State from 20 May 2013 to 20 June 2016.
• In Karnataka 2018 state election ,Khader was the only congress MLA to win the election in Dakshina kannada and Udupi district. He defeated santosh of BJP with a margin of 19739 votes .
• He was sworn in on June 6, 2018.
