Rajajinagar named after C. Rajagopalachari the great freedom fighter from Tamil Nadu, who was also the first non-British or ""native"" Governor-General of India.
The area is divided in to two stages and first stage is further divided into six blocks and the area is enclosed by Basaveshwaranagar, Malleshwaram, Mahalakshmi Layout, Vijayanagar and Rajajinagar industrial suburb. The major roads connecting this place are Mahakavikuvempu Road and 8th Main Road. Rajaji nagar covers Gayatri Nagar, Maruthi Extn., Malleswaram and these place are ideally situated, as the city railway station is just 10 km away and Malleswaram railway station is the nearest station as well as bus feasibility is also convenient.
