In pics: Here's how Indian Railways is planning to make your journey more luxurious

In order to give a complete new experience to the passengers in its trains and make your travel jerk-free, Indian Railways has introduced some drastic changes in the interiors of its coaches.

Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu recently tweeted the images of new luxury coaches desinged and built under 'Make in India' scheme.

The coaches are spacious, fitted with modern amenities, have bigger side berths, LED reading lights, snacks table and bio-toilets system installed in them.

Out of 100 plus coaches to be constructed initially, 87 would be non AC, 17 would be for AC 3 tier, 5 for AC 2 tier and one for AC 1 and chair car, each. AC coaches have been built at the cost of Rs 70 lakh while sleeper coaches cost Rs 49 lakh.

The state-owned carrier is expected to launch phase two of luxury coaches which will include executive class chair car coaches for Shatabdi Express. Modi government is going to give the passengers a whole new and hassle free experience to its passengers.
