In pictures: Delhi is world's second most populous city
In a country with an urban population of 410 million and which is likely grow to 814 million by 2050, managing urban population is one of the major challenge infront of the Government. Delhi being the national capital and Mumbai being the business hub has maximum population in the country as migrants from all over the states come to urban areas in search of job.
According to the latest report of UN, Delhi has become the world's second most populous city in 2014 after Tokyo.The Capital is expected to retain the spot of the world's second most populous city through at least 2030, when its population is expected to rise swiftly to 36 million. Financial capital Mumbai ranks sixth on the list of most populous cities in 2014.
