Bangalore, Aug 20: At least 18 people were killed on Wednesday after torrential rains triggered landslides and flooding in Japan's Hiroshima prefecture, a media report said. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has cut short his vacation following reports of the disaster, and instructed government bodies to make all-out efforts to rescue those affected.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today decided to meet opposition leader Imran Khan in an effort to end the anti-government protests here seeking his ouster, as Pakistan's powerful military called for calm and asked all stakeholders to resolve the impasse through meaningful talks.
