Bangalore, June 20: Former world champions England were of the verge of elimination from the 2014 FIFA World Cup when they lost to two-time champions Uruguay 1-2 in Group D at Arena Corinthians here on Thursday. Luis Suarez scored two goals for his team, for which he was praised by many.

Meanwhile, the match between Japan and Greece ended in a draw as both the teams failed to score a goal. Greece was reduced to 10 men after its captain Costas Katsouranis was shown the red card.
