Hamid Ansari was given a warm welcome when he arrived at Budapest for a three-day visit to "close the gap" at the Indian front in terms of bilateral contact at the senior level with Hungary.

The visit seals the academic and cultural bonding between the two nations, which was ignored for over a decade, since the time Vice-President Shankar Dayal Sharma visited Budapest in 1993.
