How to apply for marriage certificate
These documents are needed to be submitted for removal of hypothecation:
- NOC to RTO
- Form 35 (Both the copies, duly signed by yourself)
- Vehicle's registration certificate (original)
- Driving License (copy)
- Insurance policy (copy)
Steps to be taken if you decide to go to RTO and remove hypothecation yourself:
STEP 1: Get all the documents verified by the concerned officer.
STEP 2: Get these details entered into the RTO's computer system. Go to the counter in charge of your number series (A, H, AB, CY etc. are clearly marked). Hand your papers to the officer at that counter and ask him/her to approve your details
STEP 3: Go to the payment counter and pay the Rs 100 fee.
STEP 4: Go back to the officer who approved your details in the system. He/she will collect all your documents and give you a date to go next. This period is essentially used to verify all of the attached documents & get them approved by the concerned officer.
STEP 5: On the given date, you meet the same officer who will hand over your documents along with an 'Acceptance Form'. It contains all the details mentioned on the RC. It is given to you so that you can make corrections if needed. If there are any, the officer will make those changes in the system.
STEP 6: Go with all documents to a payment counter to pay Rs 350 (for the Smart Card RC). You will get a receipt and also a date to collect the Smart Card RC after a few days.
STEP 7: Go to the RTO on the givenr date to collect the new RC Smart Card.
In case you approach the dealer to get your worl done, just hand over the fees (much more) and the required documents to him. It may take a month before you get back the RC Smart Card.
Keep a photocopy of RC Card while you give away the original to RTO
NOTE: Do not forget to keep a photocopy of the RC Card while giving away the original. In case you land in any trouble while driving without the RC card, show the photocopy to the traffic police (or the receipt you have from the RTO).
