Gujarat elections: Congress candidate from Kalavad constituency- Pravinbhai N. Muchhadiya

Pravinbhai N. Muchhadiya from Indian National Congress Party has filed nomination papers from Kalavad - SC Constituency in the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections 2017.

Kalavad is a city and a municipality in Jamnagar district Gujarat.

In 2012 Gujarat Assembly elections, Kalavad Assembly Constituency was reserved for the Schedule Castes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has been winning Kalavad Assembly seat since 1985. The Congress party last won this seat in 1972.

BJP's Meghjibhai Amarabhai Chavda is the current MLA from Kalavad Assembly Constituency. In 2012 Gujarat Assembly polls, Chavda defeated Congress party's Parmar Dineshbhai Rudabhai by 6,119 votes.

Before Chavda, BJP's Faldu Ranchhodbhai Chanabhai won from this seat three successive terms from 1998 till 2012.
