Praveen Maru is the Congress candidate from Gadhada constituency. Gadhada constituency is reserved for SC category candidates. Praveen Maru is the son of Tidabhai and is a B.Com Graduate. He is an ex MLA of the Gadhada constituency.
He has been the former chairman of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee SC Department. Also, a party observer for Porbandar (City). He won Gadhada constituency in 2002 assembly elections. But lost against BJP candidates in 2007 and 2012 elections.
According to myneta.info, he is not facing criminal charges as of 2007.
