Chaudhari Chhanabhai Kolubhai is the current MLA representing Bansda Assembly Constituency.
The Congress party's candidate from the Bansda Assembly Constituency for the Gujarat Assembly elections 2017 is Anantkumar H. Patel. Bansda Assembly constituency is reserved for Schedule Tribe candidates. Bansda was once the capital of Princely State of Bansda till 1949.
The seat was newly created after 2008 delimitation.
