Giriraj Singh should come clean over recovery of cash controversy
Patna Police have arrested four accused including Singh's bodyguard, domestic servant, apartment security guard and another accomplice in connection with robbing at Singh's official residence in Patna and recovered the stolen items from them.
Giriraj blames political conspiracy:
But recovery of this whopping sum of yet unaccounted wealth has put the Nawada MP in a tight spot as he has not come up with a satisfactory answer so far and instead blamed political conspiracy against him.
BJP’s rival JDU has called for a thorough probe in this case
Singh, who is in Delhi for the Parliament session, on Wednesday claimed that the cash and other items belonged to his cousin. Singh had earlier kicked-off a controversy during Lok Sabha polls when he claimed Modi baiters would do well to relocate to Pakistan. Singh had even refused to go apologise to the Election Commission for his remarks.
"Mere cousin ka hai, wahi sabko batayega (All of it belongs to my cousin, he will explain everything). Ye political conspiracy hai, mai sabke chehre ko dikha dunga (This is a political conspiracy against me, I'll reveal the real faces behind it)," Singh told media persons outside Parliament.

JDU gets an opportunity:
This has given the JDU a chance against rival BJP and is now calling for a thorough probe.
"How this much of cash was kept at Giriraj Singh's house and from where it came should be probed. The police should investigate this," Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary told reporters.
Another JDU leader levelled serious charges against Singh for amassing money to lobby for a Union cabinet berth and even alleged Bihar BJP president Sushil Modi behind it saying Modi wants to discredit Singh as the latter's name was cropping up as a potential Union Minister.
State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shyam Rajak alleged that Singh had kept the money to give it to top BJP leaders to become a minister in the Union cabinet.
"The matter should be investigated. This is not a normal amount of money. Did Singh keep it with himself to pay to somebody to become a minister or is it part of some conspiracy by former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi to discredit Singh because his name was cropping up as a potential Union Minister," Rajak said.
One thing is for sure this case isn't going to die down easily and will surely spark yet another controversy because in his complaint to the police Singh did not give a clear estimation of the money thieved.
As per the nomination papers filed by Singh during LS polls, he has a little over two lakh in cash then a pertinent question arises why this huge sum of money was present at the MP's residence?
It will be interesting to see who this cousin of Giriraj Singh is and whether his cousin is able to prove that all this money and items actually belongs to him or not. Also, it will be worth observing whether this entire asset worth two crore is white or black money?
Giriraj Singh must come out clean on whole issue otherwise it will malign his and party's image.
