compound were fighting for their rights and their days of hard work, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra

was in deep slumber.

Visiting the site of action were RSS and BJP leaders and Milind Deora (Minister of State with the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications and the Minister of State with the Ministry of Shipping within the Government of India).

Expressing his shock and dismay at the entire episode and how it was being dealt by the civic authorities, he also said that the chief minister was unavailable for any help when he called him. His mobile was switched off.

This example of indifference is not the lone case. While the CM could have used his powers to pass an ordinance legalizing the building and avoid this situation, he did not do so for an unknown reason. However, he did mask his failure to serve the people saying that he could not go against the law and set a wrong precedent.

Now that the Supreme Court has intervened and stayed the demolition till May 31, 2014, let's wait to see what the CM does next.
