Shah completed three years in office on August 8th, 2017. In July 2014, BJP's Central Parliamentary Board unanimously approved Amit Shah's appointment as the President of the party.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah, not only man Friday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi but also the backbone of the party election machinery.
Shah completed three years in office on August 8th, 2017. In July 2014, BJP's Central Parliamentary Board unanimously approved Amit Shah's appointment as the President of the party. Again, re-elected unanimously on 24 January 2016.

After becoming the party president, Shah started an aggressive membership drive and the party by March 2015 claimed 100 million members.
Under his leadership during 2014-16, BJP achieved success in Legislative Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand and Assam, but lost the elections in Delhi to AAP and to JD (U) and RJD coalition in Bihar.
He also spearheaded the election campaigning in 2017 assembly elections, which gave BJP resounding success in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. BJP won the highest ever tally of 325 seats out of 403 under his leadership. Also, BJP was able to make some headway into Manipur.
Under the leadership of this master strategist, BJP opened its account in Communist stronghold Kerala.
Recently released book - 'How the BJP wins', author of the book Prashant Jha says, "Amit Shah is slowly transforming the BJP into a party of the less privileged castes while retaining the support of the privileged. In the process, the BJP is moving from being a relatively exclusivist Hindu party to becoming an inclusive Hindu party.
