Scam-tainted Yeddy steps down as Karnataka CM in 2011
The former Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa was arrested on Oct 15, 2011 by the Karnataka Lokayukta police amid high drama for his involvement in the illegal land denotification case.
He was later granted bail on Nov 8, 2011 after garnering media attention with his hospital hopping. Other important persons in the state like HD Kumaraswamy and Justice Shivraj Patil were also alleged to have been involved in the scam. [Read: The complete details on BS Yeddyurappa]
