Jagjit Singh
Famous Ghazal singer passed away on Oct 10, 2011. He breathed his last at the Lilavati hospital. He was hospitalised after he suffered from a deadly brain haemorrhage. He was aged 70.

Jagjit Singh can easily be referred to as a person who popularised Ghazals in India and is largely credited to have brought ghazals into Bollywood mainstream songs. His songs had haunting quality to them and his melodies were famous for its purity and innocence. Notable among his film career were his role as a music director in movies Arth and Saath Saath.
He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2003. He was born in Rajasthan on February 8, 1941.
