Beijing, Feb 3: As China celebrates New Year on Thursday, Feb 3, China's most favourite search engine Baidu.com has painted an attractive doodle on its home page wishing New Year to all Chinese around the globe.

China has been celebrating this New Year as Rabbit Year, where rabbit is the fourth sign of the Chinese horoscope, which has a 12-year cycle. This Chinese New Year marks the Year 4709 according to Lunisolar Calendar.

Google Doodle fetes Chinese New Year

The Chinese Lunisolar Calendar marks the new year on the second new moon of the winter solstice, which is based on the phases of moon. Most of the users on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook are busy with wishing New Year wishes to their friends and loved ones.

The internet giant Google, who stands second in terms of popularity in search engine in China, also featured a new Google Doodle on its Chinese search engine home page to celebrate the New Year. Google painted a rabbit to memorize the Rabbit Year 4709 in China.
