Fact Check: Will There Be 25000 Havan Kunds Used In Ram Mandir On January 22?

Currently, all attention is focused on the city of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, where the consecration of the idol of Lord Rama is planned for January 22, 2024. Simultaneously, the construction of the Ram Temple is nearing completion and is prepared to open its doors to all devotees. Amidst the heightened spirit and enthusiasm, various false pieces of information have been disseminated on the social media platform.

A video circulating on social media claimed that the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be inaugurated on January 22, 2024, with the participation of 25 thousand Havan Kunds. Digital Forensics Research and Analytics Center, which has conducted a fact check, shared screen grabs of the video showcasing the extensive construction of Havan Kunds. Users are advocating for a holiday on January 22.

Fact Check: Will There Be 25000 Havan Kunds Used In Ram Mandir On January 22?

After DFRAC conducted a check on it, here's what they have discovered:

The Swarveda Mahamandir was identified in the viral video by the DFRAC team. Further, the centre shared that subsequent keyword searches on YouTube revealed several videos similar to the viral content, confirming that the footage originated from the Swaraveda Mahamandir in Varanasi. In this location, a significant event involving 25,000 Kundiya Mahayagya rituals took place.

Numerous media reports supported this information, indicating that offerings were indeed made in 25 thousand havan kunds at the Swaraveda Mahamandir in Varanasi. According to Aaj Tak, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated this temple on December 18, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also in attendance. Notably, it is recognized as the world's largest meditation centre.

Hence, it can be concluded that the viral video does not depict Ayodhya but originates from the Swaraveda Mahamandir in Varanasi, where the significant event of 25 thousand offerings in the Havan Kund took place. Therefore, the claims made by social media users are deemed misleading.
