Fact Check: Video From Myanmar Falsely Shared As That Of Violence From Manipur
Manipur has been on the boil and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is there on a visit to take stock of the situation.
The clashes are between the Meiteis and Kukis as the former have demanded Schedule Tribe status for themselves. Videos and photographs from the violent torn state have emerged on the social media. One such video shows the Kukis surrounding a building in Imphal and firing automatic and semi-automatic weapons inside it.

"Here's a video revealing the so-called innocent Kukis firing nonstop; the gunfire occurred in the Imphal valley, not in the hills," read a tweet while sharing the video.
OneIndia has learnt that the video is not from Manipur. On reverse searching the video's keyframes with the relevant keywords, we found that the same video had been shared by a Myanmar based Facebook page on May 22. According to this post, the video showed an attack on a police station in the Sagaing township of Myanmar by the guerrilla forces.
We also found a video on YouTube of the same video from May 22. The channel said at least ten members of the guerrilla group were killed during the attack.
According to this report, the attack took place at a police checkpost in the Badu village. At least ten groups were part of the attack which let the village devastated with houses being burnt and residents forced to flee.
Hence it becomes clear that the video of persons firing at a building are not from Manipur, but from Myanmar.
