The Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy is an Islamic university that is based in Surat. Last week the PM had inaugurated a campus of the university in Mumbai
An image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi wearing a skull cap has gone viral on the social media.
Taking a dig at the Prime Minister, one user captioned the image Modi-uddin.

The image went viral after the PM visited Mumbai on February 10 2023 to inaugurate the Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy.
The viral post has two photographs of the PM and in one of them Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde is also present. According to news reports, PM Modi inaugurated the campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy in Mumbai, which is the principal educational institute of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
OneIndia searched further for the original images and in none of them was the PM sporting a Muslim skull cap. This clearly proves the point that the image of the PM with a skull cap is digitally altered.
This is not the first time that the PM met with the Dawoodi Bohra community. A meeting had taken place in September 2018 as well in Indore Madhya Pradesh.
The Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy is an Islamic University based in Surat, Gujarat. It was founded in 1814 by Da'i al-Mutlaq of the Dawoodi Bohra community, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, and is currently headed by the 54th Da'i al-Mutlaq, Syedna Taher Fakhruddin.
The university is dedicate to providing Islamic studies, Arabic language and other related subjects to the students. The academy gives strong emphasis to both traditional and modern approaches to learning.
The Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy has produced many notable scholars and leaders in the Dawoodi Bohra community and beyond. The university has campuses in Surat, Mumbai and many other locations around the world.
Prior to the inauguration of the Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy campus in Mumbai, PM Modi had tweeted saying, " will be in Mumbai tomorrow evening and join the programme to mark the inauguration of the new campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy. In line with the great ethos of the @Dawoodi_Bohras, I am sure this campus will provide a futuristic learning environment to students."
If one looks at the images from the event, it is clear that PM Modi had not worn an Islamic skull cap. Hence it is clear that the images of the PM which are in circulation showing him wearing an Islamic skull cap are digitally altered to give a false spin.
