Fact Check: Is Rahul on door-to-door campaign in poll-bound Karnataka?

The poll heat in Karnataka is at an all-time high with all parties going all guns blazing.

Elections in Karnataka will be held on May 10, while the results would be out on May 13. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to hold 20 more rallies in the state.

Fact Check: Is Rahul Gandhi undertaking a door-to door campaign in poll bound Karnataka?

Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi has also been campaigning in the state and he has made two visits so far ie on April 16 and 17.

A video of Rahul Gandhi has now gone viral in which he can be seen interacting with a group of people. Those sharing the video on the social media claimed that Rahul Gandhi is on a door-to door campaign in Karnataka.

The video that is in circulation is not from Karnataka, but his parliamentary constituency in Wayanad, Kerala. If one listens to the people speaking in the video, it is clear that the language is Malayalam.

We also found a Facebook post ()by Congress leader Nagma. She had shared the same photo on march 21 and had said, "Shri Rahul Gandhi handed over the keys of the houses built by the Bangalore Kerala Samajam to the beneficiaries." According to Nagma, the photo was shot at the Muttil village in Wayanad, Kerala.

The same photo was also shared by the Indian National Congress and on the page of Rahul Gandhi. In the post Gandhi mentioned that he had taken part in multiple events in Wayanad on March 21.

Several media organisations too had covered the same event. During the visit, the Congress leader also inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations of the Fatima Mata Mission Hospital. He had also paid a visit to the home of an auto driver who had died in an accident.

Karnataka campaign:

Rahul Gandhi was in Karnataka on April 16 and 17, during which he took part in many rallies at Kolar and Bidar. OneIndia could not find any information which suggested that during his KarnataScreenshot 2023-04-19 at 8.56.51 AM.pngka visit, he had taken part in a door-to-door campaign

Hence it is clear that the video and images being shared with the claim that the Congress leader was campaigning door-to-door is false. They are in fact from Wayanad.
