Fact Check: Is Pakistani Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Arrested In Dubai?

Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has reportedly been arrested in Dubai following a defamation complaint lodged by his former manager, Salman Ahmed. Geo TV has cited police sources in its report on this development.

According to reports, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan arrived in Dubai early on Monday from Lahore for a musical collaboration. Reports said that upon arrival, he was detained at the immigration center and subsequently taken to the Burj Dubai police station for questioning related to the complaint. The complaint was reportedly filed by Salman Ahmed, who had been dismissed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan a few months prior due to a dispute between them. According to the report, both parties have filed legal cases against each other, complicating the situation further.

During this trip, Khan is accompanied by his brother-in-law, Bakka Burki.

However, the 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain' singer has denied all allegations against him.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan released a video on his Instagram account to clarify the situation, stating that he was not taken into police custody.

In the video, Rahat said,"News circulating regarding the arrest of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is fake and baseless. Regards, Team RFAK."

He further explained, "I have come to Dubai to record a few of my songs. Everything is fine, don't pay heed to rumors. There is no truth in what the 'enemies' have claimed. I will return home soon and hopefully deliver superhit songs. I request my fans worldwide not to pay attention to the rumors. You are my power. My audience, my fans are my power."
