Fact Check: Have NATO Troops Entered Ukraine To Fight The Russians?
Amidst the Russia-Ukraine war several posts and videos have gone viral with misleading claims. The war began in February 2022.
Now a video has gone viral with the claim that NATO soldiers are reaching Ukraine to fight the Russians. The video shows a huge crowd gathered around what seems like a runway of an airport. The video features a text that reads, " "Startin it like a dream" and "Nato soldiers now in Ukraine."

"In case you missed it, NATO soldiers are now in Ukraine," said the user while sharing the video.
OneIndia has learnt that this is not a video from Ukraine. In fact the video is that of the US troops withdrawing from Afghanistan nearly two years back.
A reverse search of the viral image led us to a YouTube video titled, "US Soldier Films Chaos From MRAP Gunner Turret In Kabul."
"The footage is filmed by a turret gunner in a mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle, and it shows the use of AH-64 Apache gunships to clear the runway for C-17 aircraft. It also gives scope of the massive crowd of desperate Afghans that are hoping to hitch a ride out of Taliban-controlled Afghanistan," the description of the video read.

Another military blog titled Task&Purpose too carried a report of the US troops withdrawing from Afghanistan. The report said that the video was short from an MRAP vehicle and showed scenes at the Hamid Karzai International Airport.
To be sure, Ukraine has still not joined NATO. The member countries are divided and are still discussing on how to ensure security guarantees to Ukraine.
Hence it is clear that the video being shared with the claim that the NATO forces have reached Ukraine to fight the Russians is not correct. It is in fact a video from Afghanistan which shows the US forces withdrawing.
