Fact Check: Has Prabhas Donated Rs 50 Lakh To Fish Venkat Family For Kidney Transplant?

The internet with abuzz with the news of Telugu superstar Prabhas donating Rs 50 lakh to actor Fish Venkat family as he has sought financial support for a kidney transplant.

Andhra Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has donated Rs 2 lakh to his family and politician Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao has extended financial support by contributing Rs 1 lakh. While the family requested the film industry to help, a news emerged that Prabhas had given Rs 50 lakh to help the family in need.

Is there a truth to the claim?

Well, the family has denied getting any help from the Baahubali star. Speaking to Suman TV, a family member said, "Actually, nothing like that happened. We have been answering every call we get to see if anyone can help us. Some unknown person called us pretending to be Prabhas Anna's assistant. We found out after that it was a fake call."

However, the representative from the family has not blamed Prabhas, saying that the actor might not be aware of the issue faced by Fish Venkat.

The person added, "He doesn't even know something like this is happening. We have not received any financial help yet."

Days ago, Venkat's daughter Sravanthi had claimed that Prabhas' team had called with an offer of support. "Daddy isn't well at all. He is very serious and in the ICU. He needs a kidney transplant. It will cost us at least Rs 50 lakh. Prabhas' assistant called us and offered financial assistance. They asked us to inform them when his transplant happens to cover the cost," the Times of India quoted her as saying in an interview.

"We are in dire need of money for the kidney transplant now. Nobody knows he is in such a dire situation now, though it seems like not even Chiranjeevi. None of the associations also reached out to help either," a family member claimed.
