Fact Check: Did Members Of The Bajrang Dal Burn The Indian Flag In Manipur?
A video of a group of men burning the Indian National Flag has gone viral on the social media.
It is being claimed that the ones burning the flag are allegedly members of the Bajrang Dal from Manipur. "Bajrang Dal is burning the national flag in Manipur," wrote one user on Twitter.

The Bajrang Dal has been in the news off late after the Congress in Karnataka said in its Karnataka manifesto that it would the organisation if it came to power. The Congress did win the Karnataka elections, the results of which were declared on May 13.
As per this India Today report the video does not feature Bajrang Dal members in Manipur. The members seen in the video are more likely part of a separatist group from the state, where widespread violence has been reported in recent times.
The video was shot on August 25 2022 and we found the same on the Facebook page, NingtamPaojel.

We also found the video on the page of the People's Liberation Army. The headline read, 'burning down the Indian Flag. The description said that the PLA, is a separatist group in Manipur which was established under the leadership of the N Bishweswar Singh in 1978.
The Manipur police too said that there is no report of Bajrang Dal members burning down the Indian National Flag in the state. The Bajrang Dal too has rubbished the claim and said that their members would never do any such thing. Such videos are being floated to defame the organisation, a member said.
