A video has gone viral in which two women can be seen exchanging blows at a court house.

Those sharing the video are claiming that this brawl took place between a judge and a lawyer at a court in Maharashtra.

OneIndia has learnt that the video shows two lawyers fighting each other and not between a lawyer and a judge. Moreover this incident took place in Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh and not Maharashtra as is being claimed.

Running a key word search we found an article in the Times of India dated October 29 2022. Viral video: Women lawyers slap each other, pull hair during brawl inside a court in Uttar Pradesh, read the headline.

Both the lawyers were at the court to represeScreenshot 2023-05-18 at 11.51.26 AM.pngnt their clients in a matrimonial case. They entered into an altercation which later turned violent the report said. The two lawyers were identified as Sunita Kaushik and Yogita Saxena. Later an FIR was registered against one lawyer and seven others under sections 147, 323, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The lawyers were representing Parul Saxena and Rahul Bose. Saxena reportedly filed the FIR. In her complaint she said that Kaushik and her client hurled abuses against her. When she asked them to stop, Kaushik and her client allegedly pushed her and this had led to the brawl.

Hence, it is clear that the video that is in circulation does not show a judge beating a lawyer in a Maharashtra court.
