However, did she really make the above comment?

The quote has been widely misattributed to her following a confusingly worded article in the Financial Times (and subsequently reported by other outlets) titled "Bollywood Tries to Get Back Its Glitter."

The mix-up happened because the article interviewed both Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shailesh Kapoor (the CEO of Ormax Media).

Kareena Kapoor spoke about the general challenges facing the industry, such as the rise of streaming and shrinking attention spans.

Shailesh Kapoor was the one who provided the industry analysis regarding star fees and the specific branding of the film Dhurandhar.

Because the journalist referred to Shailesh simply as "Kapoor" and Kareena as "Kapoor Khan" later in the text, many readers and social media aggregators mistakenly credited his analytical take on the film to her.
