K Sivaram
A versatile actor, politician, and former IAS officer, K Sivaram, passed away on February 29, 2024, due to a heart attack. Born in 1953 near Bidadi in Ramanagara district, Sivaram began his career as a KAS officer in 1985 and later cleared the IAS exam in Kannada. His journey in films started in 1993 with Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake, directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar.
He gained fame with movies like Vasant Kavya, Khalnayak, Sangliana-3, and Tiger. Sivaram's contribution to Kannada cinema and public service was monumental, making his demise a profound loss.
Dwarkeesh
The legendary comedian and actor Dwarkeesh, affectionately known as the "Prachanda Kulla of Karnataka," passed away due to age-related ailments on April 16, 2024. His career spanned over six decades, starting with his debut in 1964's Veera Sankalpa.
Dwarkeesh acted in iconic films such as Bhagyavantaru, Mayor Muttanna, Cowboy Kulla, and Dance Raja Dance. He was also a skilled director and producer, contributing significantly to Kannada cinema's golden era.
Pavithra Jayaram
Television actress Pavithra Jayaram, known for her roles in Kannada and Telugu serials like Trinayani and Robo Family, passed away in a road accident near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, on May 11, 2024. Her untimely demise left a void in the television industry.
Aparna
Actress, presenter, and voice artist Aparna succumbed to lung cancer on July 11, 2024. Known as the iconic voice of Bengaluru's Namma Metro and her role as Varalakshmi in Maja Talkies, Aparna captivated audiences with her perfect Kannada diction and charismatic presence.
Deepak Aras
Director Deepak Aras, brother of actress Amulya, passed away from kidney failure on October 17, 2024, in a private hospital. He directed films like Psychology (2011) and Sugar Factory (2023), showcasing his talent behind the camera.
Guruprasad
