The discovery of her body was made within the jurisdiction of the Gachibowli police. An official from the police force revealed, "Kannada actress Shobitha Shivanna allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway." Her body was transferred to Gandhi Hospital for an autopsy to further investigate the cause of her tragic death.
