Actor and model Ruhi Singh has approached the police after vulgar WhatsApp conversations were circulated using her name, triggering concern among her followers.

The chats, which reportedly contained double-meaning references to films such as Calendar Girl and "Masti 4", were shared from a WhatsApp number falsely claiming to belong to her. Singh clarified that the number in question is not hers and that she has no connection to the objectionable messages.

Fake WhatsApp Identity Misused

According to Singh, an unidentified person created a WhatsApp identity using her name and began sending offensive messages to multiple individuals. She said the impersonation not only misled recipients but also risked damaging her reputation.

The issue came to light after Singh posted screenshots of the alleged fake chats on her Instagram account, warning followers about the impersonation attempt. She urged anyone receiving such messages not to respond, and instead to block and report the number immediately within the app.

The incident has once again highlighted the growing misuse of celebrity identities on messaging platforms, as well as the increasing number of online impersonation cases targeting public figures.

Police and Cyber Cell Probe Under Way

Singh confirmed that she has lodged a formal complaint with the police and the cyber crime department. Officials are now tracking the number involved and examining digital records to identify the person behind the fake account.

Investigators are expected to analyse call data, IP logs and other digital footprints to determine how her name and identity were used in the chats.

Amid the controversy, attention has also returned to Singh's body of work. She began her acting career with Calendar Girl in 2015 and has since appeared in films and web series.
