When will Panchayat Season 5 hit the OTT platform? This is one question lingering in the minds of fans.

One of the recurring talking points among viewers has been the gap between seasons. Unlike many fast-paced web shows, Panchayat has followed a measured release pattern, with each instalment arriving after a considerable interval.

The first season premiered on April 3, 2020, and audiences had to wait a little over two years for the second season, which released on May 18, 2022. A similar gap was seen between seasons two and three, with the latter arriving on May 28, 2024. However, the wait was slightly shorter for the fourth season, which premiered on June 24, 2025-roughly a year and a month after season three.

This staggered release cycle has only heightened anticipation, especially after season four went on to deliver record-breaking viewership numbers. The latest instalment received an overwhelming response not just in India but across global markets, reinforcing the show's universal appeal despite its deeply rooted rural setting.

Speaking during the release of season four, Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, highlighted the scale of the show's success. He noted that the exceptional viewership across more than 180 countries within the first week of launch underlined the cultural resonance of Panchayat. According to him, the response further elevated the series' stature and set new benchmarks for authentic storytelling in the digital space.

The makers, too, have been vocal about their emotional connection with the project. Vijay Koshy, President of The Viral Fever (TVF), described the journey of Panchayat as a deeply special one, praising its ability to capture the charm and nuances of rural India through simple, human stories. He credited the cast and crew for their dedication and thanked audiences worldwide for their unwavering support, which has played a key role in the show's sustained success.

Adding to the growing buzz, actor Sanvikaa, who plays Rinki in the series, has confirmed that the next season is actively in development. She revealed that the writing process has already begun.

Sharing details about the timeline, she said: "The process for Panchayat Season 5 has begun, and hopefully, maybe by mid-next year or sometime in next year, it will be released. And we are likely to begin the shoot for season 5, maybe at the end of this year or next year, so writing has started. So once the writing is done, we will start shooting."

As per her the actress, the next season is expected in mid-2026. It means they can expect it around May or June.

The series features Jitendra Kumar in the lead role, supported by acclaimed actors Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav, among others. Created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar-who has also penned the script-Panchayat is directed by Akshat Vijaywargiya and Mishra, and produced by The Viral Fever.

With its consistent storytelling quality and loyal fanbase, the quiet world of Phulera appears set to return for another chapter, keeping audiences invested in its characters and their everyday struggles, even as the wait continues.
