Vijayakanth's Health Update: DMDK Leader Remains Hospitalised In Chennai

Renowned veteran actor and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader, Vijayakanth, is presently under medical care at a Chennai hospital.

Vijayakanth's health has been a cause for concern in recent years, affecting both his personal well-being and political activities. Despite periodic health check-ups and rest periods at home, recent health challenges necessitated his admission to a private hospital in Chennai.

Currently in the third day of his hospital stay, Vijayakanth is battling a cold, fever, and persistent cough. Medical authorities attending to him have noted his struggle with breathing difficulties, leading to intermittent assistance with artificial respiration. This development has prompted an outpouring of support and prayers from fans and volunteers, all hoping for his speedy recovery and safe return home.

Before stepping into politics, Vijayakanth enjoyed a prolific career in Tamil cinema. His transition into a prominent political figure led him to establish and lead the DMDK as its chairman in the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly. Notably, he served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2016.

Vijayakanth's political journey encompasses two terms as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, representing the constituencies of Virudhachalam and Rishivandiyam.
