Vaazha 2 OTT Release Date: When Will New Malayalam Film Be Released Online?

The Malayalam comedy-drama Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros is still going strong in theaters, even with new movies hitting the screens. Led by Hashir, this coming-of-age film has just pulled off something huge at the Kerala box office-it's now the fastest film to ever cross the 100 crore mark in the state, setting a fresh record.

To give you some perspective, the movie hit that milestone in only 16 days, leaving behind previous record-holders like Thudarum and Lokah Chapter One: Chandra. That makes Vaazha 2 just the third Malayalam film ever to earn 100 crore in Kerala alone-pretty impressive for a movie without a massive star headlining it.

The film released on April 2, and its run has been nothing short of explosive. By the end of its extended first week, it had collected around 57 crore. It held strong in the second week too, touching 99.65 crore by Day 15 before comfortably crossing the big mark soon after. Clearly, word-of-mouth is excellent, and people are coming back for repeat watches.

What's even more striking is that this success comes from a relatively fresh cast and a content-driven story. Vaazha 2 has managed to pull in both young crowds and family audiences, turning into a proper blockbuster. Worldwide, it had already crossed 100 crore within a week, and by Day 16, it had surpassed 190 crore-now inching toward the 200 crore club.

The cast includes Hashir, Alan, Vinayak, Ajin, Biju Kuttan, Alphonse Puthren, Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Ameen, and Angel Maria, all of whom have won over audiences with their performances.

And since the franchise is on a roll, the makers have already confirmed Vaazha 3: Biopic of a Billion Girls, which will shift focus to a female-led story. While each part gets a new director, Vipin Das continues as writer. Viswan Sreejith, who assisted earlier, will take the director's chair next, with production likely starting next year.

Now, for the update you've been waiting for: Vaazha 2 is expected to hit OTT around the first week of May, following the usual four-week gap between theatrical and digital release. Jio Hotstar-which already streams the first film-will likely be the platform, though an official announcement from the makers is still pending.
