Ustaad Bhagat Singh Advance Booking: Pawan Kalyan’s Film Gears Up for a Massive Opening

As the release date for Pawan Kalyan's much-awaited Ustaad Bhagat Singh draws near, the first signs of its box office potential are starting to trickle in. With any film featuring the star, the excitement is immense, and naturally, everyone is keen to see how it stacks up against his last massive hit, They Call Him OG. That film set the cash registers ringing in 2025, becoming one of the biggest Telugu successes of the year.

Initial figures from advance ticket sales, both at home and abroad, give us an early glimpse into the audience's mood. Data reveals that in the US, premiere bookings have generated around $234,504 so far. This comes from 411 cinema locations, scheduling over 1,070 shows, and with more than 10,251 tickets already snapped up. When you look at the whole of North America, that premiere collection climbs to nearly $255,000, and with a couple of days still to go before the first shows, this number is only expected to grow as more venues open their bookings.

Back in India, the response is slowly picking up pace too. Although advance booking isn't open everywhere just yet, Ustaad Bhagat Singh reportedly sold close to 14,690 tickets in a single day on BookMyShow as of March 15th. It points to a decent, if cautious, start in the pre-release phase.

These opening numbers naturally lead to comparisons with They Call Him OG, which became a new benchmark for Pawan Kalyan. To put it in perspective, OG wrapped up its cinema run with a staggering ₹230 crore gross in India (₹189 crore net) and added another ₹65 crore from international markets. Its worldwide total of roughly ₹295 crore cemented its status as a 'Hit' and became the highest-grossing film of his career at that point.

A big chunk of that success came from North America, where OG amassed a handsome $5.596 million (about ₹49.24 crore). This included $5.319 million (₹46.80 crore) from the US and $277,000 (₹2.44 crore) from Canada. Interestingly, the Telugu version alone contributed a massive $5.554 million to that total, with the Hindi version adding a modest $42,000. These numbers placed it comfortably among the Top 8 all-time highest-grossing Telugu films in North America.

Ahead of its release, the film's theatrical rights have already been sold for impressive sums. Within the Telugu states, the business has been locked at around ₹106 crore (including GST), with the Uttarandhra region playing a key role in the Andhra Pradesh deals. For the rest of India, the rights are valued at roughly ₹8.5 crore, while the overseas markets have commanded a price of about ₹12.5 crore. Adding it all up, the worldwide theatrical valuation for Ustaad Bhagat Singh stands at a formidable ₹127 crore.

Scheduled to hit the big screen on March 19th, the film carries the weight of huge expectations. Directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it features Pawan Kalyan in the lead, with Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna as the female leads. The music is by Devi Sri Prasad, while S. Thaman has composed the background score.

However, the path to box office glory won't be a solo ride for Ustaad Bhagat Singh. It finds itself in a face-off with the big-budget spy thriller, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, which releases on the very same day-March 19th. This sequel has already created a massive stir, reportedly selling over a million tickets in advance globally. Its appeal cuts across languages, including a strong Telugu version, given the first film's popularity in the region.
