A statement from their family announced the news to a daily: "Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode today early morning. We are in a state of shock with the loss. The final rites shall be conducted today afternoon."

Dolly had recently been hospitalized due to breathing difficulties, but she showed signs of improvement after immediate treatment. However, her health complications forced her to leave the show Jhanak, as she couldn't manage longer shooting hours following chemotherapy.

Amandeep Sohi, known for her role in 'Badtameez Dil', passed away on Thursday, March 7, after battling jaundice, her brother Manu confirmed the news to multiple publications. Manu also stated that although Dolly had been advised to rest in the hospital, her condition was not deemed critical. In 2023, Dolly was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Throughout her two-decade-long career, Amandeep appeared in numerous TV shows. She was married to Avneet Dhanowa, an NRI based in Canada. Amandeep is survived by her daughter, Amelie.

In an interview with ETimes TV, Amandeep shared the difficulty of breaking the news of her diagnosis to her young daughter. She recounted, "It was very difficult to talk to my daughter Amelie about it. She is just 14 years old. When I received the diagnosis, I started dropping hints to her and told her that mommy was going to be fine and that I would get well soon. Later, when I shared it with her, I made her understand that it is curable and I will be fine. Slowly, she began to accept it, and she's handling it better now."
