Tushar Ghadigaonkar Death: Marathi Actor Dies by Suicide in Mumbai’s Bhandup Area; Depression Cited as Cause

Marathi actor Tushar Ghadigaonkar, known for his roles in various TV series and plays, has reportedly died by suicide. The news has sent shockwaves through the Marathi entertainment industry. Tushar had been struggling with severe depression due to a lack of work opportunities for several days. He was residing in Bhandup, Mumbai, at the time of his death.

Tushar's career included memorable roles in several Marathi TV serials such as 'Lavangi Mirchi', 'Man Kasturi Re', and 'Sukhachya Sarini He Man Bavare'. He also appeared in Marathi films like 'Bhaubali', 'Unad', and 'Zombivli'. Additionally, he performed in the play 'Sangeet Bibat Aakhyan' and recently featured in the TV show 'Sakha Majha Pandurang' on Sun Marathi channel.

Impact on the Industry

The tragic news of Tushar's passing has deeply affected the Marathi film and television community. Actor Ankur Wadhave expressed his sorrow on Facebook, questioning why Tushar chose this path. "Friend, why? For what? Work comes and goes! We must find a way out, but suicide is not the answer!" he wrote. Ankur acknowledged the challenging circumstances but insisted that this decision should not have been made.

Vaibhav Mangle, another actor, commented on Ankur's post, highlighting how people can feel broken inside. "People may be very broken inside... The gap between expectations and reality is widening... People don't talk... There are no ears to listen... No time to find answers... No intimacy," Vaibhav stated. He pondered whether such individuals end up feeling isolated despite being surrounded by others.

Originally from Kankavali in Sindhudurg district, Tushar began his acting journey while studying at Ruparel College. He was a familiar face in the college's drama department and was affectionately known as 'Ghadya' among friends. His untimely death has left a void in the Marathi entertainment world.
