Trisha Hits Back at Parthiban: 'Crude Words Say More About the Speaker'

The controversy surrounding comments made by veteran actor-director R Parthiban about actress Trisha Krishnan has taken a fresh turn after the actress issued a sharp response on social media.

Her statement has added a new dimension to the ongoing debate that has been fuelled by rumours about her alleged relationship with Vijay and speculation about his reported marital troubles with his wife Sangeetha Sornalingam.

Trisha reacted strongly to the controversy in a post on X, making it clear that she was unhappy with how her name was brought into the event where the remarks were made.

"I was informed by the organisers of a recent event that my name and picture were included at the last minute at the request of an individual conveyed through his assistant," she wrote.

The actress then delivered a pointed remark that many believe was directed at Parthiban's comments.

"A microphone doesn't make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder. Crude words without knowledge say more about the speaker than the person they're aimed at," she added.

Her response comes after Parthiban sparked controversy at an event when he was asked about actors he had worked with in the past. During the interaction, the conversation shifted to Trisha's portrayal of Kundavai in Ponniyin Selvan: I, directed by Mani Ratnam.

While responding to the question, Parthiban jokingly remarked that it might be "better to ask Kundavai to sit inside the house," adding that it might be better if she did not step out because "it is creating a lot of issues." The comment quickly went viral across social media platforms.

Many viewers felt the remark was inappropriate, particularly because it came at a time when online discussions about Vijay and Trisha were already intensifying.
