Tom Holland Injured On Set Of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Filming Paused

British actor Tom Holland sustained a mild concussion on the set of the upcoming Marvel film Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Friday in the United Kingdom. As a precaution, production has been temporarily paused for several days. Fortunately, no other cast or crew members were injured during the incident.

Holland reportedly suffered the concussion while performing an action sequence. Although details on how the injury occurred have not been disclosed, the actor will take a short break from filming to recover safely. Sony and Marvel Studios, who are co-producing the film, are scheduled to meet on Monday to determine the next steps for production. The studios have not commented on potential delays or changes to the release date, reiterating that the safety of the cast remains their top priority.

Despite the setback, Holland appeared publicly on Saturday, hosting a charity event in London for The Brothers Trust, alongside his fiancée and co-star Zendaya at Christie's auction house.

A Key Installment in the Spider-Man Franchise

Brand New Day represents the fourth installment in the Spider-Man series starring Holland. Following the massive box office success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony and Marvel Studios have high expectations for this latest entry.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, marking a departure from Jon Watts, who directed the previous three Spider-Man movies. Holland reprises his role alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. New additions to the cast include Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman, while Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal are set to return in their Marvel roles.

Last month, Sony shared footage of Holland on his first day back on set in his new Spider-Man suit. In the video, Holland said, "It's day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man. It's funny, putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow. It's also the first time we ever had fans on set day one, so it's really exciting to share this with them. We've got some familiar faces on set. I'm just going to do my best, hopefully get it right, no pressure."

Spider-Man: Brand New Day began production in Glasgow in early August and is scheduled for theatrical release on July 31, 2026. The exact status of filming is expected to be clarified after Sony and Marvel Studios meet later this week.
