Thodi Thodi Piya Karo: Pankaj Udhas Created Waves With New Age Ghazals In 90's

Ghazal, as a genre is a poetic expression of both the pain of loss or separation from the beloved and the beauty of love in spite of that pain but Pankaj Udhas gave this style a new definition with songs like Thodi Thodi Piya Karo and Aahista kijiye baatein in early 90's which instantly became massive hit and had a separate fan base.

Pankaj Udhas passed away at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness. He was a talented playback and ghazal singer, very similar to Jagjit Sigh yet different. He was born on May 17, 1951, in Jetpur, Gujarat and started his career with the launch of the album named "Aahat" in 1980.
