There Was Chemistry Between Abhishek Bachchan-Karisma Kapoor: Filmmaker On Their Break Up

From the verge of marriage, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor ended their relationship way back in 2002.

For the unversed, Abhishek and Karisma got engaged and the news of their relationship was publicly announced by both families in 2002 on the occasion of Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday.

The news of their relationship was announced in October 2002, and in a matter of months, their engagement was called off. Now, filmmaker Suneel Darshan has spoken about their break-up.

In a conversation with journalist Vickey Lalwani, he said there was a chemistry between Abhishek and Karisma.

"Chemistry was there, you have to watch Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya. Their chemistry in the film reflected their real-life bond," he added.

Before announcing their engagement, the two actors were briefly in a relationship before deciding to take it to the next level. However, fate had different plans.

He then said, "Destiny has played a lot of turbulence in the life of the Kapoor girls," he said. "They are fortunate to have the mother they do, who has always tried to protect them, even if it meant making mistakes in the process. Babita ji is not God. She's a human being and can make errors."

The producer-director had special mention for the way they were brought up by Babita. He continued, "These girls were brought up with a lot of care and love. They were supported in their careers,"

After the break-up, Karisma married businessman Sujay Kapoor and they parted ways in 2016. She was blessed with two children. Last month, her ex-husband passed away at the age of 52.

On the other hand, Abhishek married Aishwarya Rai, and they have a daughter.
