Bollywood actress Adah Sharma took to Instagram to announce the exciting news that her film, "The Kerala Story," will be available for streaming on OTT platform ZEE5 starting February 16th. The film, directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah, follows the controversial story of three young women and their harrowing journey.

Plot and Controversy:

The story revolves around Shalini (Adah Sharma), Nimah (Yogita Bihani), and Geetanjali (Siddhi Idnani), three friends manipulated by their roommate Asifa (Sonia Balani) into converting to another religion. The first half explores this manipulation, while the second delves into Shalini's transformed life as Fatima Ba, a member of a terrorist group imprisoned in Afghanistan. The film also portrays the manipulation of men used to lure women into joining this group.

"The Kerala Story" has sparked debate since its inception. The trailer's claim of 32,000 women missing from Kerala faced objections, particularly from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who labeled it a "distorted story" and banned the film's screening in the state. However, the Supreme Court later lifted the ban.

Box Office Success and OTT Premiere:

Despite the controversy, "The Kerala Story" emerged as a box office success last year. Now, viewers across India can watch the film from the comfort of their homes on ZEE5 starting February 16th.
