That Remains Unaltered: Nagarjuna On His Equation With Naga Chaitanya's Ex Wife Samantha

Amid coming under attack from a section of netizens after getting engaged to Sobhitha Dhulipala in a matter of three years after getting divorce from Samantha, his father Nagarjuna has said his equation with his son's former wife remains unchanged.

In the first interview after the divorce, Nagarjuna said, "That remains unaltered. What happens between a couple is an entirely different matter." Earlier, Nag had claimed that Sam was like his daughter. He also revealed that his son Naga Chaitanya was "depressed" following the separation from Samantha.

After dating for a few years, Naga Chaitanya married Samantha in 2017. Their marriage ended in 2021.

Naga Chaitanya Was Depressed

Nagarjuna stated, "It has not been an easy time for Chay or the family. The separation (from Samantha) left him very depressed. My boy doesn't show his feelings to anyone. But I knew he was unhappy. To see him smile again... Sobhita and Chay make a wonderful couple. They love each other dearly."

He added, "It (engagement) went very very well. Chay has found happiness again. He is very happy. So am I! It has not been an easy time for Chay or the family. The separation from Samantha left him very depressed. My boy doesn't show his feelings to anyone. But I knew he was unhappy. To see him smile again...Sobhita and Chay make a wonderful couple. They love each other dearly,"

Who all attended the engagement?

Nagarjuna said that only the immediate family was present at the ceremony. He added, "Sobhita's parents and sister. Chay's mother was there, of course. My wife, Amala, was there. That's it. We chose this day because it is very auspicious. Both families consulted the Nakshatras, and when we were told August 8 was a very auspicious day, we decided to go ahead with it."

Announcing the news of engagement on Thursday, Nagarjuna, in a post on X, wrote: "We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless!"❤️ 8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love❤️," he wrote.
