Tere Ishq Mein OTT Release Soon? Fans Excited to Watch Dhanush and Kriti Sanon Romance Online

Tere Ishk Mein packed theatres last year, and now its long-awaited OTT release is finally around the corner. Fans in India have been glued to Netflix's Coming Soon section, where the film just popped up. According to the Netflix listing, the romantic drama starts streaming on OTT from January 23 (Friday). But there's a twist behind the scenes, the movie's tangled up in a major legal fight over rights and branding.

Directed by Anand L Rai, Tere Ishk Mein (2025) features Dhanush hugely popular in the South and Bollywood star Kriti Sanon for the first time. Their chemistry and the film's emotional punch really landed with both critics and audiences. The romance ended up connecting with people well beyond the big cities, and a lot of that comes down to the way the story blends North Indian settings with Dhanush's loyal fan following.

The film hit theatres on November 28 last year, pulling in a solid box office run. Now, Netflix subscribers in India can spot it in the Coming Soon row, and all signs point to a January 23 OTT debut. Still, Netflix hasn't put out an official announcement or locked in a premiere time, so for now, the date comes from what's shown in the app. That hasn't stopped fans from sharing screenshots and swapping theories online. A lot of people who missed the theatrical release are now waiting to watch the movie at home. Unless Netflix or the producers say something official, everyone's going by what the platform shows.

According to box office collection, Tere Ishk Mein did great. The film cost around Rs 65 crore to make, but raked in over Rs 112 crore in India and more than Rs 160 crore worldwide. That strong performance set it up for a high-profile digital release.

But while everyone talks about the streaming date, there's also a court case brewing. Eros International Media Limited has taken the film's team to the Bombay High Court over alleged intellectual property issues. They're asking for Rs 84 crore in damages, naming director Anand L. Rai, his production house Colour Yellow Media, T-Series, writer Himanshu, and Netflix-the movie's streaming partner. Eros claims Tere Ishk Mein was pitched as a spiritual sequel to Raanjhanaa and that it piggybacked on the earlier film's reputation without proper rights. The court will have to decide if any damages are owed.

For most fans, though, the legal drama is just background noise. The real excitement is about watching Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's romance hit Netflix. With its strong box office run, the lawsuit chatter, and all the buzz in Netflix's Coming Soon section, Tere Ishk Mein is still making headlines.
